Les cornemuses d'Ecosse - Bagpipes of Scotland (Les cornemuses d'Ecosse - Bagpipes of Scotland)

The bagpipe is an instrument we in Western Europe generally associate with the Celts. THere are several families of bagpipes, the best known of which is the Scottish bagpipes, although the instrument is also associated with Irish, Northumbrian and Breton traditions. But only the Scots use bagpipes in their military bands: the famous pipes and drums that have become so popular throughout the world. This album, bringing together Edimburgh's finest pipe bands, provides a wonderful demonstration of their skills.
