Låtar på skånska (Jeanette Eriksson)

Jeanette Eriksson is one of Sweden´s most promising young fiddlers. In 2002 she was awarded the title Riksspelman (“master musician of the realm”) at the age of sixteen, a feat almost unheard of.

She is thus the youngest musician ever from her region to achieve this title as well as the first female fiddler to make a solo CD with folk music exclusively from Skåne. Incidentally, 2007 is designated an official “Folk Music Year” in the region and so the title (“Tunes from Skåne”) is well chosen. Jeanette’s interpretation of the hearty and energetic dance tunes of her home region is a pleasure to listen to and a real treat for anyone who loves superbly performed traditional music !
