The work draws its origin from a research on the sacred chants of popular traditions commissioned by the Municipality of Nonantola, in the Modenese area. Thanksgiving songs, tunes of liturgical origin, Passion chants, purely popular melodies celebrating holy days: a treasure almost extinted, which has been saved and fixed on this record also due to field-recordings and to the precious testimonies of elder informers of the Emilia Apennine.
