Jamai lou tèms (OSCO)

Association of traditional music, OSCO is created since 1991 in Nîmes. The desire to be rooted strongly in cultures of southern France (Béarn, Languedoc, Provence) does not prohibit the inclusion of dances from the center of France or compositions of Michel GEORGES. The texts were hand written specifically for the group by the storyteller and writer Jorgi LARGE. They evoke both the iconic characters of local traditions (waltz; Fanfonne) the love of the region (The belo paraule) or topical issues such as difficulty communicating (Jamai lou time) Whereas traditional music 's fully enrolled in the ongoing evolution of world music, Osco intends to live that heritage alive by incorporating modern technology. Thus, only the old side, flutes, oboe and accordion diatonic Languedoc, the sounds of saxophone, electronic drums or drum machines, provide a more contemporary color, according to the rhythmic structures of dance trans, to the delight of the dancers.
